Packs rectangles into few bins within maxWidth × maxHeight — a heuristic, not a minimiser. A rect that cannot fit at all gets a placeholder bin of its own.

An atlas packed from two bitmap fonts

  • Few bins, not one huge image

    Instead of shrinking everything into one image, the packer keeps the bin count low under a maximum bin size — which is what keeps sprite sheets browser-friendly and close to power-of-two.

  • Any object with a width and a height

    Your own classes stay your own classes. Placement is written onto the objects you pass in, and extra fields, tags and per-item data survive untouched.

  • Zero dependencies, ES5 bundle

    Geometry only — no DOM, no Node API, no runtime dependency — so the same bundle runs in the browser and in Node.
